In partnership with Medline, the Greater Ohio Vascular Access Network invites you to an exceptional educational evening with a nationally recognized vascular access leader: Laurie Crozier, BS, RN, CRNI, OCN, VA-BC.
With over four decades of experience spanning ICU, OR, infusion therapy, and oncology in both adult and pediatric care, Laurie has dedicated her career to advancing vascular access practice, policy, and education. She has served as a member and author of the INS Infusion Therapy Standards of Practice Committee, chaired AVA’s Public Policy efforts, contributed to the newly released textbook Vessel Health and Preservation, and held leadership roles with INS and industry partners. Her expertise in clinical practice, health economics, and team building has shaped hospital, outpatient, and home infusion programs across the nation.
Learning Objectives:
- Discuss the origins and impact of Hospital-Onset Bacteremia (HOB) as a quality measure.
- Describe changes in standards, practice, and policies for managing and mitigating complications associated with Peripheral IVs (PIVs) and Difficult IV Access (DIVA) patients.
- Appraise regulatory focus regarding Ultrasound Guided Peripheral IVs (USGPIV).
- Articulate the value of an interdisciplinary approach to PIV practice and policy.
Speakers

Laurie has 43 years of nursing experience. Clinical Areas Include ICU, OR, infusion therapy, and oncology, both adult and pediatric. Her primary focus during her clinical years led to the development of vascular access for both inpatient, outpatient, and home IV therapy at the hospital in Alabama. Clinical Advisory Board for the Alabama Board of Nursing. Past Member/author of the INS Standards of Practice Committee, AVA public policy chair. Chapter author for the recently launched textbook on vascular access: Vessel Health and Preservation. Founding member and President of the INS chapter in Nashville, TN Previously held clinical, Health Economics, and executive roles with BD Teleflex and Premier.
